Topics include the post-war music industry (Pop, Race, Hillbilly categories), Tin Pan Alley songwriting, the origins of rock and roll, African American musical traditions (blues, gospel, rhythm and blues), the British Invasion, psychedelic rock, disco, punk, hip-hop, and the impact of technology on music production and distribution.
