This course is like a survey course of all 20th century music: Serialism, Neo-Riemannian and so on.

These notes survey 20th-century music theory and analysis. Topics include extended tertian harmony (9th, 11th, 13th chords), jazz theory and modes, nonserial atonality, pitch-class set theory (Forte’s system), serialism and twelve-tone technique, and Neo-Riemannian analysis.
